Natural Antibiotics
If you haven’t heard of natural antibiotics before now, it is probably because the need for them has only arisen as of late. It seems that as time progresses, germs and nasty diseases have adopted a mindset of their own and decided to outsmart ever advancing modern medicine. If you haven’t heard of antibiotic resistance by now, chances are you will sometime in the future, whether it be from your doctor or pharmacist or a friend who is going through it. It has to do with antibiotics losing their affect on treating illnesses; there is no clearly explainable reason why but somehow or another the human body is beginning to build up an immunity toward anything but natural antibiotics.
Even though it is rather devastating that people are acquiring these antibiotic immunities, it doesn’t surprise many people and science is all over it. They have even discovered some natural antibiotics, those which naturally occur in nature and don’t have to be fabricated in a lab like penicillin and amoxicillin do. The origins of natural antibiotics go back as far as nature does, obviously, but natural herbal antibiotics and natural alternatives for antibiotics are just seeming to be a more sensible option than regular chemically manufactured prescription antibiotics, which tend to have horrible and disgusting side effects of their own as well.
Silver is just one natural antibiotic, and although it occurs in the body in trace amounts, these amounts are not enough to work as an active antibiotic that you would want to put your health to depend on. Garlic has also been known to be a natural antibiotic as well, killing germs by cutting off their air supply rather than killing them with a taste of their own medicine, like chemical antibiotics tend to do.
While the idea of using natural antibiotics to treat illnesses is something relatively new to the public, natural antibiotics and the idea of using them for treatment is not new to the medical industry at all. As of yet, there are few immediate needs for natural intervention when it comes to illnesses, but in cases where such is needed natural antibiotics are going to be used more and more frequently.
You can talk to your doctor about natural antibiotics for more information, but they are most likely going to prescribe you the same penicillin that they have been for years. While antibiotic resistance is not an immediate threat to everyone, at least there are ways that are being worked on for the day when antibiotic resistance makes childhood illnesses devastatingly fatal.
