Cold Packs

If you have ever been in any degree of physical painfor an extended period of time, chances are that you have some idea of how beneficial cold packs can be for injuries. Cold packs are easy to come by. You can make a cold pack on your own, or just an ice pack wrapped in a washcloth. For some reason ocld packs seem to have some type of cooling effect on injuries and that certainly beats any chemical or medicinal cure that oculd be administerd for the pain.

Hot and cold packs can be purchased at the drug store for a mere few dollars, and circulating cold packs seem to be one of the more popular types of cold packs out there. There aer also hot cold packs on sale that use cold pack chemicals to create the heating and cooling effect, but those are only temporary they are not designed ot last a lifetime.

First aid kits do not always contain hot and cold packs, but many of them contain the instant cold pack, where you peel back the paper and when the chemical components in the cold pack touch the air, start to create a cooling effect. These cold packs can normally be purchased in bulk in boxes, and hot packs come the same way. Simply peeling back the paper is not always the best way to go about administering pain relief to a victim of an accident or injury, because instant cold packs do take a few minutes to kick in, although the effect may last for several hours with out the messy melting process.

In the meantime, applying ice or a wet cold rag to the injured area is a great idea to fill in the blanks between the effects of the pain and the effects of the instant hot cold pack. Instant hot cold packs can be purchased for sports bags or first aid kits. They are great components for the locker of any athlete as injuries do occur, and even minor sprains and strains can be made instantly better with a hot pack or cold pack applied to the pain as soon s it happens. That can certainly prevent a great deal of aggravation of the injury. Pick up a few hot and cold packs from the store today, whether they be instant cold packs or the more traditional kind.
